To celebrate the holiday season with New York's most iconic luxury shopping district, Fifth Avenue, I illustrated and directed the direction for a map of the renowned hotels and stores to landmarks that make up the Avenue which was decorated for the season. I depicted the Avenue with snow as it is magical and I wanted to capture the essence of the whimsy of New York. I studied the archival history of Fifth Avenue over the last couple of centuries to hone in on the direction for this seasonal guide. I was inspired by the storied history and documentation which I celebrated through an array of iconic architecture and elements of visual motifs throughout the guide. The Fifth Season is Fifth Avenue's annual holiday celebration which brings millions of visitors from across the globe to view fantastical scenes from the Rockefeller tree and ice rink, Dior x Saks Fifth Avenue's spectacular light display, and windows to The Plaza Hotels Christmas tree to name a few. As part of the celebration, The Fifth Avenue Association created large Christmas trees that adorned the streets for onlookers to capture magical photos. Attached to the map/guide I created an illustrated postcard. I re-imagined the Avenue in a fantastical manner that captured the magical atmosphere of the Avenue, focusing on iconic landmarks and historic elements and some of the delightful people you can see on the Avenue during the holidays and beyond.
